I am a licensed MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist) with a private practice in Berkeley and Lafayette, California. I provide psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are seeking to improve their lives and their relationships, particularly during life transitions. If you are reading these lines in the hopes of finding help for yourself or a loved one, I want you to know that you have my respect and support. Whether you realize it or not, you have already taken an important step: you've chosen to act, for you are, at this moment, engaged in learning about the options available to you. I'd like to assist you in any way I can. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, specific or general, you may have. In the meantime, here's what I feel you should know about me, about how I approach my work. At its heart, the work I do is based on compassion, kindness and caring. And, though life is a serious endeavor for all of us, I am always on the lookout for ways to tap into the joy and wonder which lurks - however elusively - beneath life's surface. I attend to the concerns and feelings, spoken and unspoken, that ebb and flow during the course of a session. Rather than plumb the depths of memory, I prefer to focus on the immediate issues at hand, and explore how patterns of relating and perceiving play a contributing, and often fundamental, role. Ultimately, my goal is to assist you in deepening your understanding of, and appreciation for, yourself and others so that you may live life fully, richly and well.
